It’s finally happened. The cricketing world and the fashion world have collided and the destination of this collision is Adelaide Oval this Saturday, November 26th.
As obvious when walking around the members enclosure of any first class cricketing event, the ladies and gentlemen of the sport always sport their Sunday Best to the game and make for a sea of ties, hats and variations of colouring. After all, cricket is the gentlemen’s game so a touch of class is to be expected.
In 2016, the South Australian Cricket Association has launched the inaugural Fashions on the Village Green event to be held on the third day of the test match between Australia and South Africa. While the cricket hasn’t been great for Australian fans, one thing to look forward to now certainly is the fashion.
The big trends to look for: bold sleeves, a trend not going away after gaining momentum in 2015, jumpsuits, tan toned heels and statement earrings. For the gentlemen, it’s open game.
Registration begins at 2PM for a 4PM competition. Prizes for the top three entrants include two tickets to the Adelaide Strikers New Years Eve afterparty, a magnum of Wirra Wirra Church Block and a food voucher to use for the remaining period the game runs for.
Kick up your heels or your brogues and head down for an afternoon not to be missed. For more information, visit the SACA here.
